Jack Humphrey is the master of web 2.0 marketing. He has been doing web 2.0 link building tactics before the term web 2.0 was used.
Jack’s blog The Friday Traffic Report gets well over a million hits year because of his use of a set of intelligent tactics that have given his site a high profile.
Recently I interviewed Jack and he discussed in depth some of the methods and tactics he uses successfully. He talked about how too many marketers approach the web 2.0 sites like a total geek asking a girl out for the first time. Just throwing ads around as if people are not so fed up with advertising everywhere; this is just stupid and will get you banned forever on many web 2.0 social sites.

People say web 2.0 traffic does not convert, and it doesn’t, at least not directly, most the time. Web 2.0 works because it raises your profile and gets you in front of people who will talk about you and your stuff. When top line publishers who are interested and involved in what you are doing re-post and mention you will get targeted traffic. They will create links to you. Linking is what it is about. Linking is one of the ways web 2.0 works best, it will get you a better position in search and when done well becomes very targeted.
By implementing tried and proven methods anyone can get more traffic using web 2.0 social marketing.
