Google dot org may be a google site you have not heard of yet.
I just found out myself a couple days ago from the New York Times. Their first paragraph kind of sums it up.
Searching for solutions
Google.org aspires to use the power of information and technology to address the global challenges of our age: climate change, poverty and emerging disease. In collaboration with experienced partners working in each of these fields, we will invest our resources and tap the strengths of Google’s employees and global operations to advance five major initiatives
As much as some people love to rail against the power of corporations they do have the power to throw billions of dollars at solving some really big problems we all face.
I am glad to see good things being done. I hope as Google travels on it it’s pursuits they remain solid on knowing a company is only as good as how well they serve their customers.
