Putting whatever site you want people to know about into as many bookmarking sites as possible is generally known now to be a good way to get more people aware of your site and what it offers.
First thing you will need to do, and I, as of now, know no way to automate this part of it, is open many accounts in social bookmarking sites. Open them in the places the sites you will see in the bookmarking automation tools are using. I will get to these next.
If you go to http://ekstreme.com/socializer/ the tool there will give you a java or php script which will make available 51 social bookmarking places for anyone who visits your website to bookmark any of them. There really is no reason you could not get accounts at all 51 and sit at your website and social bookmark your own site. Oh, did I mention? It is Free.
Next one I have been using is at http://www.onlywire.com. This tool sits on my computer and will social bookmark any page I select to 22 social bookmarking sites at one time. It is very fast and returns me quickly to the origional page.
