Using Wordpress Com Blogs for links

Wordpress.com is pretty adiment about having real people blogging there and are kind of on the warpath against spammy blogs. That is what I hear anyway. They also fixed it so forms don’t work so you cannot capture emails.
Just as an expeiment, in a small health related niche, I have been writing a blog there. Well kind of writing, mostly I just add related articles (with author box).
What I notice is growing traffic from wordpress.com for the tags. Apparently people search there and get results from tags. Nothing from Google yet. It is a pretty fresh blog so I cannot say a lot about the traffic, except in a couple days it is growing on a nice 60 degree up graph. I did add a link in the blogroll to a more commercial related niche blog and I will check to see if I get any traffic.
It takes about 5 min to drop in 2 articles so maybe I am on to something. I pick articles from different article sites and they are very specific to my blog topic. I have no ads or affiliate links in there, just content.

Choosing a Niche Market

niche marketing

A niche market is simply a narrowed target market. Developing a niche takes some time, research and thought - but the results are worth it. You start by looking at several possibilities and narrowing it down based on several factors such as the fit between your business and the niche, the possibility for growth, and so on.
Below are 4 criteria to think about and explore when trying to choose the ideal niche for your company:
1. The niche “fits” you
* your unique knowledge, gifts and strengths are a match with the niche
* you like to work with these kinds of people and environments
* you can utilize your expertise in this area and become known as an expert
* you have contacts and/or experience with this niche
* you are passionate and knowledgeable about this specific niche’s issues and problems
2. The niche market is the right size
* not too large that it is impossible (in terms of money, time and resources) to market to it
* not too large that the big companies (who have the money, time and resources) have targeted it
* not too small that there is not enough people to justify and sustain your marketing and business efforts
3. There is competition in the niche
* if there is no competition it usually means that there is not enough demand for any products and services, and there doesn’t exist potential for growth in this niche
* you need to be sure that the people in this niche know they have a problem and are actively seeking a solution
* there should be potential for prospective partnerships and collaborations with other businesses serving the same niche market
4. The niche is reachable and receptive
* you have several different ways to connect with prospects and clients in this niche - i.e. media, publications, online and offline strategies, etc.
* you need to make sure there are several ways in which you can be highly visible to the people in this niche, i.e. writing, speaking or networking
* this niche market is open to getting help and spending money on products and services to aid them
Use these 4 points as a guide to helping you choose a particular group of people to offer your products and services to. Remember that when you choose a niche market to focus your marketing on, this doesn’t mean that you can’t work with others who may come to you - via your website, speaking engagements, referrals and so on. All it means is that your efforts and resources are focused on marketing to your niche and getting really well known in your niche.
Many people get panicked at the thought of having to choose one niche only and spending the rest of their business lives catering to them. Don’t forget that marketing is a process that changes and grows as you and your business evolves. You can always refine your niche market as you learn more and there’s nothing stopping you from having multiple businesses that cater to different niche markets!

Free Market Research

There are a lot of ways to find markets. It can be as simple as a newspaper, TV Show, or, one I like, NPR News. Their in depth discussion of many things can tip me off to emerging and growing markets. A couple days ago they interviewed 2 women who write books about gardening. They said gardening is a rapidly growing market. It makes sense too, lots of people want to save money and eat high quality healthy food. Since most Americans grew up nowhere near a farm and likely grew little more than a houseplant, the new gardener is hungry for information.
There are some very sophisticated sites that offer free market research in a more officially businesslike way:
Amazon top selling products is a good place to look. Ebay pulse and ebay kewords will show you what people are searching for.
Del.icio.us searches will show you what people are interested in enough to save the sites. You can search your interested keywords then see what sites people are saving. I should mention Google Alerts too, it is a great way to see what people are writing about from any keyword.
Markets evolve around us. I remember when roller blades started to become popular. Looking back the many discussions people had were a tip off. People talked about how they might be dangerous, how they were better than old style skates, about how to stop when using them. People talked. What do you see people talking about?

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” - Albert Einstein
How much of what is delightful about children stems from their never ending curiosity?
What is ther around you that grew from someone’s questioning?
Without curiosity and qustioning what would you have never discovered?
Can you ask better quesions, more insightful questions? Questions that require more honest answers? Questions that provoke deeper understanding? I hope your cusiosity will drive you to. There is always more to be discovered.

Not being a very good copywriter will hold you back in your business and even in life. We often have to convince someone of something. Direct sales copywriting is about convincing people.
I am not a very good copywriter but I know enough to find some of he best in the business and study them.
Reading these several Copywriting Articles by Clayton Makepeace at ezine articles is a good source for copywriting lessons. He has the chops. He has done it. Written copy that increases sales by 10 times over the previous ads.
A real history of success is about as difficult to argue with as a boa constrictor.
If you are as serious as the statue of Abe Lincoln about getting more sales then Download this free book, #1 Way To Electrify Your Ads

This Wikipedia Donate Button was made at sproutbuilder.com which is a site where anyone can make all sorts of interactive widgets. This one is very simple compared to some that are being made there. It is my first one.
I just like the idea that bloggers and people with websites can help Wikipedia since they provide such a useful service. I am thinking maybe I could have just made a simple image link thing but since I am intrigued with widgets now this is it.
Then I made this much better looking Wikipedia Donate Widget
Copy This Code For Your Site, 125 x 125 fits right in.

Widgets can also be made without the shre and sprouts part at the bottom if you join the pro level. Pro level is free now but will probably cost something in the future.
Please Comment me any widgets you make, I want to see your ideas.
