Live case study as it happens.
I’ve been interviewing some people about making high quality, responsive mailing lists. Willie Crawford, Kevin Riley, Eric Louviere, Mark Hendricks, and James Brown.
Interviewing people is a good way to get to know them better and to learn from them. Doing a Blog Talk Radio Show is good for that even if you are not making an information product. I learned some stuff that had not yet percolated into my brain, that’s for sure.
Most people who get interviewed fairly regularly will expect you to have a set of questions prepared for them in advance so they can be better prepared. You also have to make them so you are ready and so you can keep the talk framed on the information you want to cover.
Everybody responds different in an interview. Some people will embellish at length on the question at hand and some will keep pretty much to the specific question. While I do have at hand a set of questions I never use them all because in the conversation completely different questions come up based on what the person being interviewed says.
I tend to ask open ended questions as well as specific information requests. What is really great if it happens is if the person being interviewed gets talking on something they have a lot of interest on and knowledge about. Since people just think in so many different ways it is important to remain open to follow the topic as it develops and ask questions from what comes up.
These interviews are leading to a product. Proven Email Marketing Strategies. It is proven the people I interviewed use these strategies and they are very successful in using them. So hence the title.
I guess I could have gone with something like Secret Email Strategies of Millionaire Marketers but I will just let the facts speak for themselves. Besides if they really were secrets why did they tell me all about them knowing I would be offering this information to any of the one billion people on the net who may be interested. You know what I mean?
Some people have already signed up on the advance list and I hope that is an indication of interest. After all most marketers should realize there are lists and there are lists. Some people make a good living from relatively small lists because the do such a good job building a relationship and providing value.
Putting it all together is a bit of a challenge. I also made a blog on the same domain and have been adding content from the people I interviewed. I names it The Email Marketing Strategy Blog.
I pulled terms from the Google Adwords Keywords Tool and am using some of them for tags and categories. I am looking to have this product available for some time and want to build search traffic to the blog. I think it will be relevant as long as people do email marketing.
Once the product is ready I will load the salespage into RAP (Rapid Action Profits) offer management script. The affiliates will be able to get paid immediately as soon as the sale is made direct to their paypal account.
Today I made this nifty banner. It was fairly easy to make. I put the background image into Photoshop and made it only 70% opaque then wrote on it and saved it as a png image. Ok maybe I am not a graphic artist sensation yet but it was fun and only took about 30 min of messing around with.
Considering the number of people who have already signed up on the advance notice list I am hoping this will be a popular item.
