I am working on this to develop a product and thought maybe you could do this too, here is how.
The basic idea was come up with a topic or idea of a product you think people will want then interview experts in that and offer that as a product.
Figuring out if it is something people want is important of course. One way is to check these 6 social search engines and see what people are talking about relative to a topic you want to work on.
Another way is reading forums to see what problems people are talking about. The questions and problems that get posted again and again are problems that you could likely make an information product about and find a receptive audience to buy.
Another method is to make a poll online with a company like Survey Monkey. Offer a free relevant information product if they answer the poll questions and have them join your mailing list. For fast results drive about $25-50 of adwords clicks to that page. This what Howie Schwartz does and you can click his name to get more information on his mutli million dollar earned niche system.
So once you decide on an idea to make an information product find some people who are experts on that subject and interview them. Most the time they will do this free for the exposure and publicity. I always ask them to say the links to their web site in the interview.
I use Free Conference Call (freeconferencecall.com) and can do an interview by phone anywhere in the world. Always download the file right after it is done becuse as soon as you record another interview it will over write the last one. I use the free Audacity audio editor to take out any beeps from the call system and check the sound levels.
Once you get the interview or interviews done then of course you have to market it, find affiliates and all that. I will leave the marketing to additional posts so you may want to subscribe.
