Improve Your Blog Comment Backlinks

by warner · 10 comments

It is good to comment blogs. You get to be part of the community and you get backlinks from a lot of blogs.

However

Usually your backlink is just your name. On blogs that follow this will not help as much as a keyword. I am sure you have a great name and everyone should know it. Of course if you use some keyword then they may see you as a spammer.

My Solution

Warner Carter @ Adventures In Internet Marketing Blog.  I started putting that in. There cousl be other similar additions. My Name followd bt @ and what else might make sense and possibly be usefull as a link? Or maybe something to just get the blog comment readers interested in having a look at my blog.

I am thinking this will spread.

KeywordLuv Plugin

I am using this plugin that will add a keyword type link with your name automaticly. Comments are dofollow after a couple posts and CommentLuv will put the title of your last post in your comments here on this blog.

Spread Luv

Great advice, thanks for the tip. I hadn’t thought of doing that before, but it makes perfect sense.

Like your suggestion about putting more than your name in the name field but I just tried it right here on your blog and it didn’t work :(

Wasn’t able to go beyond 5 letters past my name–not enough. I’ll have to try again.

Have started trying the name field trick on other blogs and it works–great idea!

Great post. We just launched a new site and would love some feedback.

Something to also comment, is that on some websites, they add the NO FOLLOW string to their code, if they do this, you really won’t get proper credit for the backlink from all search engines.
