Today I discovered that Caroline Middlebrook wrote a very useful resource post. 24 Do-Follow Social Bookmarking Sites That Actually Work (and how to bookmark QUICKLY)

It seems among the social bookmarking sites out there some do follow, or have the links you post followed by the search engines. So when people create links in social bookmarking sites they may as well use the ones where they share with the search engines.

Caroline listed

Here’s 24 such sites that I have been using (PR in brackets):

1. Blinklist (7)
2. Furl (7)
3. Backflip (6)
4. Bibsonomy (6)
5. LinkaGoGo (6)
6. Mister-Wong (6)
7. Raw Sugar (6)
8. Spurl (6)
9. Buddy Marks (5)
10. Jumptags (5)
11. MyJeeves / Ask (5)
12. MyLinkVault (5)
13. Xilnus (5)
14. A1 Webmarks (4)

20. TeDigo (4)
21. ez4u (3)
22. MyPIP (3)

Building backlinks is one of the best ways to get better visibility in the search engines.

Thanks for this informative list of social bookmarking sites that help your Google PR. This will save a lot of time.

Hi Warner,

I’m surprised that Digg isn’t in her top list, given that it has a PR of 8.

Anything I post there is followed by Google extremely quickly.

Beardy Geek: I think her focus was on bookmarking sites more than news sites.
