head in sandWhen you think you’ve found such a niche market, ask yourself these important questions:

1)    Do you have an interest or passion for the niche? If not, do you think you can develop one? Or will you get bored with it quickly?

2)    Are other people passionate about your niche? If not, do they have a desperate problem they want to solve?

3)    Is the market big enough, but not so big you’ll have too much competition when you’re just starting out?

4)    Do the people in this niche spend money?

5)    What products are being successfully sold right now to this niche? Can you sell something similar? Can you improve it, give them something they want that all other products of their kind are currently lacking?

6)    What are these existing products in your target niche being sold for? Could you be profitable selling a similarly priced item? Or are your potential competitors selling cheap on the front so they can upsell, cross sell, or make their money on the back-end?

The better you get to know the market you want to sell into the more likely you are to be able to see what it is they really want and need. Never rely on keyword research alone to examine a niche market. At a minimum visit the sites that are in that niche, see what they are selling, how they are selling it; then go to forums in that niche and see what people are talking about, what they are bitching about.

It is truly amazing, how many people e-mail me and ask me what the best Internet marketing book I have is, and which one I would recommend to them. Well, after having read about 20 books on this subject, one comes to mind. In fact, it is one that is just out this last year, and one that I would highly recommend to you, because all the advice is totally sound. The name of this online marketing book is; (and don't let the hype type title scare you away):

"e-Riches 2.0 – Next Generation Marketing Strategies for Making Millions Online" by Scott Fox, ANACOM or American Management Association publishing group, New York, New York, 2009, ISBN: 978-0-8144-1462-0.

This is the perfect book for someone that wants to market their business online using social networks strategies, viral marketing exploits, online videos, webinars, podcasting, online league services, click ads, e-mail marketing, and online newsletters. The author also goes into significant detail of how to promote your business online using online articles. Online articles just like this one. Interestingly enough, I totally agree with the author after having written 20,000 online articles myself. In fact, this is number 19,970.

But most importantly, the author explains how to put all this together in a strategic plan using all the possible tools online to promote your business. Even if your business is a brick-and-mortar company that sells products and services, this book will explain how to use the web to attract new customers, clients, and consumers to your fixed site locations, or to order your services, as well as order online. The book is quite comprehensive, and very easy to read.

Even if you are a complete novice the author spells out within each chapter exactly how to go about using every component in your online marketing tool chest. He also has a chapter on 'the power of free' and how you can use the web as a giant marketing and PR tool to propel any type of company. Indeed, I highly recommend this book as a first read to anyone who wants to be successful online. And I hope you please consider all this.

Step One:  Write Out A List of Everything You Want To Share.

That's right, just write down everything you want to share in your eBook.  I'm talking just start rambling on paper (or your computer screen).  Everything you can think of that relates to the subject of your eBook.  Just a list of "ideas" you want to share.

Step Two:  Write Everything You Can Think Of For Each Entry.

For each entry on your list (I.E. Each "idea") write down everything you can think of.  Explain each idea as thoroughly as you can.  Share research, examples, case studies, quotes, tips, resources — everything you can find for each section.

Step Three:  Organize Your Thoughts.

Take everything and put it into a logical order.  If it's a tutorial, organize it chronologically in order of which steps come first.  If it's a "tips" eBook, categorize the tips.  Put things in a logical order for your readers to be able to understand as they begin reading.

Step Four:  Edit And Pad The Sections.

Go back to each section and edit.  Take out what doesn't need to be in there.  And add more content to the sections that need further explanation.

Sorry to talk about stinky but some of the automated list building stuff I have seen kind of stinks. You join some over hyped membership then get a bunch of email dumped at you from your "upline"

List Catcher is a much more elgant solution that uses your Aweber (or whatever list manager you use) so you are in control. They have some very good looking graphics as you can see in the Video.

We've come up with that better way, and found out that it doesn't cost much to do it. So why would we charge an arm and a leg for a product that, once it's made, is automated and ready to go? We don't want to overcharge any online entrepreneurs for using ListCatcher, because we remember what it was like to start out on the shaky ground of the Internet Marketing world.
